LCD-manufacturers admit price agreements

Earlier this week, Ars Technica reported that LCD-manufacturers Sharp, LG and Chunghwa have confessed breaching the so-called Sherman Act. This means that the companies admit that they have made price agreements.

According to the American Department of Justice, LG and Chunghwa have been negotiating in Taiwan, Korea and the US to set fixed prices for TFT-LCD monitors. They have also exchanged their sales figures to check these agreements. Sharp is sued for price agreements with Dell, Apple and Motorola.

LG's fine totals 400 million USD, Sharp has to pay 120 million, and Chungwha has to pay a 65 million dollar fine
